AHHA is hosting this 2-day workshop at the BP Energy Center in Anchorage. There is no registration fee, facilities can register a maximum of 2 participants, and AHHA can cover the travel and lodging costs for one participant per facility. If a second attendee is registered, travel costs will be at the facility’s own expense. If planning to request reimbursement from AHHA for your facility’s participant, you must complete the Travel Authorization Request form as well as review the Travel Authorization Rules found on our member forms page online.

Who Can Attend:

This is a train-the-trainer type of workshop, there is no fee to attend, and member facilities may send a maximum of 2 nurse educators. AHHA has funding to cover the travel and lodging costs for one participant per facility – if a second attendee is registered, travel costs will be at the facility’s own expense.


Continuing Education Credit:

The Providence Nursing Institute is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.


Booking Travel:

The group rate at the Residence Inn Anchorage Midtown is available for November 12-November 16. The hotel block will expire on October 18.


About the Trainers:


Julianne Luttrell is a Senior Program Manager for the Providence Clinical Academy and has worked in Nursing Professional Development since 2009. She manages transition in practice programs for Med Surg Tele, Ortho Spine, Oncology, and Long-Term Care. She is also a facilitator for the Providence Clinical Academy Nursing Professional Development Fellowship program. Julianne holds certifications in Clinical Nurse Leader and Nursing Professional Development. She lives in the Portland Oregon area with her husband, son, and dog Chloe.


Julia Parazin is a Senior Program Manager for the Providence Clinical Academy and has worked in Nursing Professional Development since 2006. She manages RN transition in practice programs for Perioperative, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy and Cardiovascular Lab Nursing Specialties. She has a background in perioperative & procedural care, nurse professional development, and informatics. She is also a facilitator for the Providence Clinical Academy Nursing Professional Development Fellowship program. Julia holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership from University of Colorado Anschutz. She lives in Richland, Washington and enjoys nature walks and flower gardens.


Rachelle Reid is a Senior Program Manager for Simulation and the Nursing Professional Development Fellowship for the Providence Clinical Academy, a transition into practice program for nurses. Rachelle has an MS in Nursing, is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator and a certified Nursing Professional Development specialist. Prior to starting simulation education 19 years ago, Rachelle worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse.


Michelle Scortzaru is a Senior Program Manager at the Providence Clinical Academy with over a decade of experience in Nursing Professional Development. She manages the 12-month residency and fellowship programs, preceptor courses, and mentorship programs. She is also a Providence Clinical Academy Nursing Professional Development Fellowship program facilitator. With a background in nursing leadership, education, progressive care, ambulatory, and informatics, she brings a diverse skill set to her role. Michelle holds a Master of Science in Nursing and is a certified Nursing Professional Development Specialist.
