Alaska Sub-Specialty Nursing Consortium: PeriOp Training
This training is offered three times a year and each training has openings for 10 nurses. Periop 101 ™ is an AORN education product utilized by Providence St. Joseph Health Clinical Academy to deliver a hybrid educational experience for the novice perioperative registered nurse in Alaska. The first 4 weeks are face-to-face didactic, laboratory and simulation experiences in the PAMC state-of-the-art Perioperative Simulation Lab. Participants will work 40-hour work weeks during this stage (click here for a sample daily schedule) - there are no allowances in the schedule for time off or missed days. The following 11 weeks are conducted at your home facility including weekly check -ins with the Clinical Academy staff at PAMC. Hiring is the responsibility of the home facility and all local facility HR rules apply to that process. Participants must have at a minimum a temporary RN license in the state of AK; unincumbered AK RN license preferred. Please note that you will need to have a laptop with wireless capability for access to Periop 101© and the internet in order to participate.
