Healthcare Workforce Summit

In recent years, healthcare employers in Alaska have been actively developing the workforce to fill critical roles in their facilities. Over the past 3 years, AHHA has supported  members as they invested in talent pipeline and pathway programs and focused on retention through practices that protect the workforce and address employee wellbeing.

AHHA’s Healthcare Workforce Summit is an opportunity for leaders, staff and stakeholders to discuss critical issues and trends, share ideas and practices, learn from one another, and focus on action for the future.

Join your statewide colleagues for discussion, knowledge exchange, relationship building, and collaboration to support growing, strengthening, and sustaining Alaska's healthcare workforce.

Who should come:

• Staff from AHHA member facilities engaged with workforce recruitment, development, and practices that support staff wellness, resiliency, and address threats to retention

• Representatives from organizations partnering with healthcare employers on healthcare workforce development

Summit – Dimond Center, October 16, 8:30 am to 5 pm

Pre-Summit – University of Alaska Anchorage, October 15, 9 am to 4 pm

Available lodging:

Dimond Center Hotel, $179 per room. Complimentary breakfast included

• The booking link for hotel rooms at the Dimond Center has expired for the Healthcare Workforce Summit. Please call the hotel directly to indicate attendance to the AHHA October 16 event, and they will honor the $179 rate.

  
  

Registration Information:

Registration required. You will be asked to indicate which days you are coming, Summit, Pre-summit, or both.

• No cost to register

• Lunch is included for both days

• Free parking is available at the Dimond Center and UAA

• Travel costs are not covered by AHHA but scholarships are available for members if this is a barrier to your attendance. Please complete the request form HERE.

Pre-summit: Industry Collaboration with Alaska Association for Career & Technical Education Conference

Attendees at the pre-summit day on October 15 will overlap with school district CTE educators and counselors for a day of networking, hands-on learning, and site visits designed to strengthen partnerships between schools and employers in their regions.

The morning features presentations from regional training centers, the Alaska Workforce Investment Board, AHEC centers, and industry talent development professionals from key sectors including healthcare, construction, and maritime. Attendees will discuss how training programs, post-secondary institutions, and employers can align efforts with school districts to develop Alaska’s future workforce. Lunch will focus on networking and will be an opportunity to engage with school district staff and other major employers in your region.

In the afternoon, attendees can choose to stay for more workforce conversation hosted by the Alaska Workforce Alliance or choose from two immersive afternoon tours:

• Alaska Native Medical Center: Meet professionals in patient care, allied health, and operations while exploring a major healthcare facility.

• University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA): Dive into workforce education pathways and explore labs, programs, and partnerships preparing students for Alaska’s in-demand careers.
