Join AHHA for our first Healthcare Workforce Summit in Anchorage on October 16, 2025. This event will bring our members and key partners together to collaborate, share insights and innovations, and discuss effective strategies for strengthening Alaska's healthcare workforce.

The Agenda will Include:

• Keynote session from the University of Utah Health’s Resiliency Center on developing a pro-active, systemic response to trauma and workplace stress injury in your organization. Jake Van Epps will help us understand the impact of adverse events, learn how to support staff in their recovery, and discuss how to bring institutional change to our organizations.

• Speed dating with facilities who have implemented innovative workforce initiatives.

• Roundtable strategizing conversation about building a Lower 48 pipeline to bring recently graduated students to work in Alaska.

• Tabletop discussions about career ladders, culturally relevant HR practices, innovations in onboarding & scheduling, creating healthy work environments.

• Connecting with partner organizations working on healthcare workforce development -  the Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce, the Alaska Literacy Program, and the Alaska Workforce Alliance.

• Open mic session sharing pressing workforce issues and solutions with statewide colleagues.

A pre-summit opportunity is scheduled for October 15 for AHHA members to meet with career and technical education professionals from across the state who will be in Anchorage for their annual professional development conference. The goal for this day is to build and strengthen relationships between school districts and the primary healthcare employers in their community or region.

• Staff from AHHA member facilities engaged with workforce recruitment, development, and practices that support staff wellness, resiliency, and address threats to retention

• Representatives from organizations partnering with healthcare employers on healthcare workforce development
